This first year in Thailand has been crazy! We have learned and done sooo much.
When we first got here, we did not know any Thai except hello (sawadikrop). Now, we can hold a somewhat intelligent conversation to most people if we want to. But most of the time, I only understand about 50% of a conversation. I figure out what the rest through the context.
We have also gone to so many places in Bangkok. There are at least 10 malls I can name within 20 minutes of us (by BTS, not driving!) Most of them are more than 3 stories tall; usually 5 or 6. All of them , though, have the mostly the same stores. They are also very expensive. The mall closest to us has three different buildings (each one has 5 floors minimum) and it even has a little bird zoo.
I love living in a big city because there is so much to do. You can see amazing views from all the sky scrapers! You can never be bored when you live here. There are ice skating rinks, bowling alleys, arcades, and huge books stores full of books we cannot read. I really enjoy my parkour class. I have been able to meet people from all over the world there. Plus, it is easy to get anywhere because of the sky train, subway, and the constant flow of taxis. The noise of the big city does not even bother me.
I hope y’all like the blog.
Hi! My name is Rachael and I am a child of God. I was saved from sin and all its bondage at the age of 21. I am married to an incredible man. He constantly challenges me to grow closer to my Saviour. We have three beautiful children that love the Lord. Currently, our family is preparing to go to Thailand as missionaries.
