Time flies! This is the last month of our first year in Thailand, and some days it still doesn’t feel real. Don’t worry! On those days, I can just walk outside, take a deep breath, and I am quickly reminded of where I live! (Just teasing)
But that’s not the part that doesn’t seem real. Usually, it is when I am teaching English, or realize I understand a complete sentence of the sermon, or when I speak Thai and they understand me, or I am eating lunch with my Thai friend, Lucy. Those are the unreal moments! Why? I guess because I still find it hard to believe I get to serve the Lord in any capacity, let alone as a missionary in a crazy foreign (to me) place.
Anyway, as an ending for a first year, I have been working on posts that might give you a glimpse into what our life is like. Some of these have been written during the year, but I have not posted them. Uhhh….confession…I have lots of those, but I usually chicken out when it comes to publishing them. However, I love to read posts from other missionaries–the good, the bad, and the ugly–so, I’ll let my pride go, and share them! Others are new, and the kids will also write at least one post each. They have as much to say as I do!
Hope you enjoy this last month of our fist year!
Hi! My name is Rachael and I am a child of God. I was saved from sin and all its bondage at the age of 21. I am married to an incredible man. He constantly challenges me to grow closer to my Saviour. We have three beautiful children that love the Lord. Currently, our family is preparing to go to Thailand as missionaries.
