Note: I have trying to post this for three weeks, but for some reason it would not post. I don’t know why it has changed today! ☺️
We had a great time at church this morning! First, just being able to go is a blessing! Then, as soon as the kids were dismissed for Sunday School, all the little girls run to Rachel and grab her hand for her to join them!
They did a greeting time this morning, and the usually reserved congregation was very liberal with their hugs! It made us feel very welcome!
At lunch, the pastor was excited to show us which food was not spicy and teach us how to eat some of the veggies we had not eaten before. A gentlemen noticed Rachel really liked one of the meats, and he went out of his way to give her an extra one. In general, everyone was more willing to try to talk with us. Our limited Thai makes it hard, but they spoke nice and slow! Lol!
Rachel shared her gum with all the little girls, and they shared their popcorn. Sarah was super excited to hold one of the littlest girls!
And last, but not least, AJ received a gift today. A gentleman in the church made AJ a plaque with his (AJ’s) favorite verse. He speaks a little English, but every week he has gone out of his way to welcome us and has been so kind.
But….our morning did not start so well. I was sick to my stomach and almost didn’t go to church. Sarah Grace has a cold and was a little grumpy. Rachel woke up in a somber mood. Ahmet feel back asleep. Only AJ was seemed to be ready to go to church. We have noticed a pattern. Always on Sunday morning, something happens that would be a “legit” reason for missing church. Yet, we have determined to “try church” before we give in to the excuses, and every single time God more than gets us through! 😊
Psalm 122:1 “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.”
Hi! My name is Rachael and I am a child of God. I was saved from sin and all its bondage at the age of 21. I am married to an incredible man. He constantly challenges me to grow closer to my Saviour. We have three beautiful children that love the Lord. Currently, our family is preparing to go to Thailand as missionaries.
