The Bible teaches us that hospitality is not an option for the Christian, and maybe even more difficult for some, is doing it with a grateful heart. I think most of us want to be hospitable, we want people in our homes and in our lives, but there is one thing that stops us. Inviting. There are very few people who will just push themselves into your life. They have to be invited in. I am one of the obnoxious ones who pushes my way in, so maybe that is why I am quick to invite others in. Or…at least I was. Before Thailand. Three years over here, and I still find myself stammering and hesitant to a fault when I want to ask someone to share life with me. Even just for coffee. I am so worried about offending, or not being able to fulfill my part of the conversation, or being rejected, that I often don’t say a word. But just recently, God brought Bee into my life. Bee is open, fun, sweet, and a bold witness for Christ. And Bre makes me invite her in. I love it-most of the time anyway! I have learned a lot in these few months of knowing Bee.
****Bee has become someone I love to talk and visit with, and I look forward to every Sunday. She has helped me open up and be not so afraid of whatever was stopping me before.
We are in Alaska (brrrrr) and I almost could not log in to get this post done! If I miss some over the next two weeks, please know I have not quit or given up.
Hi! My name is Rachael and I am a child of God. I was saved from sin and all its bondage at the age of 21. I am married to an incredible man. He constantly challenges me to grow closer to my Saviour. We have three beautiful children that love the Lord. Currently, our family is preparing to go to Thailand as missionaries.
