Doing all three for Jesus.
My kids and I were able to take a 3 week trip to America just about 1 month ago. Except for the jet lag, it was a wonderful trip. Well, almost wonderful. There were some hiccups- such as I ran into a pole with the borrowed vehicle, major flooding in Louisiana where we flew out, missing my husband like crazy, and not wanting to leave Walmart behind. Nothing major, though. The car was fine, I made it back to Thailand and my husband, and Walmart will be there when we go back.
There was one thing I kept looking for on our trip, though. I anticipated my kids feeling left out, or not a part of our church and family anymore. That is why before leaving for America, Ahmet and I spent time talking and praying with the kids. We wanted them to see warning signs of being discontent, and to have a plan of action (prayer and verses) for when those feelings hit. Yet, they never did. As a matter of fact, they could not wait to get back “home” to Thailand. They LOVED their time with friends and family, and treasure the memories they made and fun times they had, but they were READY to get back to Thailand. I asked them why it seemed easier to leave America this time. Their answer, “Thailand is where we belong, and we know it now.”
I realize that one day they will probably be less certain of their place in God’s will, but they will never doubt He has a will for them. They might even choose to not follow His will, but they will regret it, because they will know His path would have been better. But, over this past year and a half, God has placed in their hearts a certainty that He is here and He is working. As a mom, there is nothing I desire more for my kids than for them to know Him. It has been a blessing to watch them grow, glow, and go!
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Hi! My name is Rachael and I am a child of God. I was saved from sin and all its bondage at the age of 21.
