Doing all three for Jesus.
This post was part of the 1 year in Thailand posts—but I had such a hard time getting pictures to download! Oh well! Better late than never!
Who does not like to eat? Well, actually, I have met people that do not care about eating, but those are some strange cookies!
Thailand has lots of yummy food! I cannot eat a lot of it, because it has soy sauce in it, but sometimes, I do not care and just eat it anyway!
One of the neat things about Bangkok, is all the food it has here from different countries. AJ has learned he really likes Indian food, and I actually like kimchi. The girls have been less open to eating new foods, but slowly and surely, the smells and tastes are growing on them. Ahmet can eat just about anything, whether he likes it or not, but thankfully, he usually likes whatever he tries.
I thought today I would share some pictures with you of yummy dishes. If I were you, I would make sure I just ate, because these pictures will make you hungry!
This is delicious Pad Thai from the Issan area of Thailand. This one has chicken, rice noodles, tamarind paste, limes, bean sprouts, and tofu cooked in an egg
Ahmet ate this Fish Ball Soup at a little outdoor restaurant. Anyone know what fish balls taste like? Ahmet says they taste like a hotdog made from fish!
This right here was a surprise! It is pork stir fried with veggies in some kind of chili sauce…and I loved it! Just the right amount of heat when eaten with rice-and a coke!
I do not know what this is called, or even all the ingredients. All I know is my taste buds jumped for joy when I was devouring eating this bowl of awesomeness. There was a lot of cilantro, lime, chicken, some fish sauce, and some type of potato type thing.
The beginning of my family’s favorite curry dish, but don’t ask me the name, because seriously, when food is this good-who cares what it is called!
This is Rambuten, and it is an ultra sweet, juicy fruit. It can be a pain to get to though, because you have to peel it and then avoid the big seed, but it is so worth the hassle!
Good thing I just ate dinner, or I would be drooling! Eating the food of the culture around you is a great way to get to know someone and connect with them.
Hi! My name is Rachael and I am a child of God. I was saved from sin and all its bondage at the age of 21.
