Doing all three for Jesus.
I love to laugh and God gave me a husband that loves to laugh. Through him, I have learned how to laugh at almost anything. Add three super fun kids and living in a foreign (to us) culture, and I find myself almost always laughing! Or at least chuckling! So, here are some things that made me laugh last week… Maybe they will for you, too.
All involve my youngest, but that’s just because the language learning funnies were too numerous!
—After discussing gravity and weight with my youngest child, she said,” See, Mom? Your not fat. Gravity just pushes harder on you.”
—I asked Rachel if she wanted to start studying a certain person from the Bible for our reading time together and she said, “Well, I would say Jesus, but I have so many questions, I think I should wait until I get to Heaven.”
Me, “Oh, really!? That many? Like what?”
Rachel, “Was he married?”
Me, “No. The Bible says nothing about a wife.”
Rachel, with a frown, “Oh. Well, I guess that’s the only one I have then.”
Yeah, that made me giggle!
—Not a funny one, but sweet…
“Mom, you know how sometimes people talk about what would happen if Jesus knocked on your door and wanted to visit you in your house? How a lot of people would have to shut the door and rush around to clean up first? I don’t think we would have to do that. Even if we were in the middle of reading or watching T.V., it would be okay. We just choose not to have that stuff in our home, and I am glad.”
Me,”I think you are right. But what about our hearts? Would we need to clean them up before we looked Him in the eyes?”
Rachel, “Mom, I am talking about what we do! This is not supposed to be a complicated discussion!”
Okay, maybe it is a little humorous!
—And last, but not least….
Rachel decided to explain to me about “fat-carbs” (her word not mine)
“You see, Mom, everyone has fat-carbs; they are just stored in different places. Your’s are all in one place, but mine are evenly stored all over. Sarah’s are in her belly. Daddy’s are in his chest and belly. AJ’s, well, I don’t think he does have any. So maybe not everyone has some. So, see? It is not that anyone is fat. It is just that their fat-carbs are stored in places that make them look fat. Understand?”
I hope you at least smiled at one of these and that your Monday is as great as your Friday!
